Dating Older Men

An older man has a certain sex appeal no matter what your age. One of my close girlFRIENDS says Clint Eastwood’s blue eyes and swagger rock her boat any day. While not all older men are cavalier like Clint, or whoever rocks your boat, dating older men can be an adventure worth taking.

Make sure you are careful and safe. Don’t be overconfident or act stupidly, be cautious. Make sure someone other than your date knows where you are supposed to be going and for how long. When dating an older man if you can meet in a public place at first you will be better off. You can always leave if you are uncomfortable or edgy. Trust your gut instinct, remember some men are single for a reason.

Don’t put yourself in the position of being the other woman. Maintain your self-respect by not stooping to this level. When dating an older man find out if he is married. If so remember a tiger doesn’t change his stripes. If he’s willing to cheat on his wife he likely will cheat on you too.

Remember his maturity. While your man wants to have a good time, be ready to spend some time just relaxing with little activity too. Dating an older man can help you appreciate the finer things in life—a sunset or a walk in the park. Don’t expect an activity-filled date every time.

Between the sheets with an older man. Dating an older man may not be as hot and heavy as your experience with younger guys. Understand that although your older man may have lost his sex drive somewhat, he is still eager to please you and to be gratified himself. His maturity can be a blessing as he knows what he is doing in bed.

Get to know him under the surface. You don’t need to monitor his every though or action, but discovering his life goals and ambitions to see if they are in accord with yours can save you heartache down the road. Does his picture of the future resemble yours? Make sure this is the case and tell him if it’s not.
Just be yourself. If you want to date an older man just be yourself. If you try to act older or more mature they will see right through your façade and you will not stand a chance. All you need to be is yourself because4 you are a great catch.

Find common ground. Although generational differences are an obstacle, compromise by finding similar interests and likes. Be willing to learn from him and willing to share your own knowledge and experience. Starting a new hobby or activity together can bond you in many ways.

Don’t worry about what others think! Not everyone will approve of you dating an older man. Don’t let anyone get under your skin with their rude comments or stares. Remember if you and your man are happy that’s all that matters.

Feed him. If you can cook, an older man will appreciate your hard work and talent. Dining together is another form of intercourse and can be very intimate.
One of the biggest challenges when dating an older man is not to coddle him. He can take care of himself and wants to take care of you too. Let him do just that.
