What Guys Want: Women Who Are Independent

It is really pretty simple when you think about what guys want – women who are independent. Many think that men are solely attracted to a woman’s looks, but that is not true. While your looks may get a guy to glance in your direction, they are not a part of the foundation of a long-term, happy relationship that will stand the test of time. It takes a great deal more than a short dress and long hair to captivate a man.

What captivates a man most about a woman is her independent spirit. While the men of yesterday sought out the females who were willing to stay home and take care of the house and kids, the man of today wants a woman who is not afraid to stand on her own two legs and speak up for herself.

Men are attracted to liberated ladies because they have appealing traits. The first characteristic is the most obvious; independent women are without a doubt – independent. These women have no problems doing their own things, and they are capable of enjoying themselves while their men are off to their own devices. Just like women enjoy spending time with the girls, men enjoy spending time with the boys. An independent woman recognizes and accepts the fact that her man has interests beyond his relationship with her. In fact, she would not have it any other way.

When you speak of a woman who is independent, you are not just talking about a woman with her own mind and her own interests. You are also speaking of a strong-willed woman with her own bank account and financial goals; she is financially independent and able to pay her own way. Guys love this because instead of paying for everything for the entire household; they can spend more of their own money on themselves. With both parties being financially independent, it relieves the relationship of monetary stresses which are the cost of so much relationship failures.

It cannot be said enough that women who have their own minds enjoy their own activities. They know what they like without being told; they are not “yes” gals. Their independence makes them more at ease with themselves and with the surrounding world. As men love women who are comfortable with themselves and can adapt in any situation, women who are independent are exactly what guys want, and men are not afraid to admit this.
