Where to Find a Good Man

I’m often asked by readers where to find a good man. My answer to this question varies based on the basis of the conversation. Often times I’m asked within the context of a woman telling me there are no good men left.

 

If you’re like most women, you may be becoming frustrated with the dating scene, insisting that all the good men are either gay or taken, or otherwise unobtainable.

 

The good news is this common projection isn’t true.

 

The bad news is if you’re thinking this, then it’s likely you don’t know exactly what you’re looking for or are looking for your dream guy in the wrong places.

 

Many women fall into the trap of constantly talking about their “Mr. Right” without really delving into what’s important to them in a partner or in a relationship.

 

The first step to being able to find the guy you want is to really know what kind of guy you want.

 

You can be as vague or as specific as you like, describing anything and everything from his physical appearance to his station in life—the goal here is to make a list of everything you need to find in a partner so you know what he looks like when he comes along.

 

This has a few positive benefits.

 

First, you won’t just be figuring out exactly what you want in a guy—you’ll be figuring out exactly what your perfect guy desires and appreciates.

 

As such, you’ll know where you can find him, or at the least the kinds of places you’ll never find him. From there, you can narrow down your search.

 

For example, if your ideal man is physically active and enjoys athletics, you know you’ll be more likely to find him while watching a sporting event or participating in an adult intramural league.

 

Likewise, if your ideal guy has similar career goals as you do, you may find him while attending a work related workshop or convention.

 

This isn’t to say you won’t find the perfect guy in an unlikely place, it is suggesting that if you narrow your search you’ll be more likely to waste less time on Mr. Wrong.

 

As always, I strongly encourage women to get involved in things you love, and you will be more likely to find a guy who loves the same things. This is where to find a good man.
